Where the wild roses grow

An attempt at a graphic novel, i.e. dark, sexy, dangerous. As a starting point, I took one of the most well-known combinations of sexy and dark, the song “Where The Wild Roses Grow” by Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue, not in the least because my wife (who is a huge Cave-fan) and I saw the both of them perform this song at a festival in London.
Anyway, although I thoroughly enjoyed inventing a twist to the well-known story, and documenting it with historical facts and pictures of 19th century London, and then drawing these sexy and violent scenes, I came to the conclusion that a) as graphic novels go, this was a poor attempt, b) I’m not a fan of graphic novels, neither as an illustrator or a reader and c) I’m much more made for the fast drawing and the quick laugh – I’m simple that way 🙂
Having said all that, I am kind of proud of the end result
